Section of key water pipeline found missing, GMDA to conduct probe
India, Aug. 14 -- The Gurugram Metropolitan Development Authority (GMDA) has decided to conduct a CCTV inspection of a pipeline network from Central Peripheral Road (CPR) to Almeida Chowk after a 3.5-metre section of pipeline was found missing.
The pipeline, laid from Chandu Budhera to Vatika Chowk, is crucial to make the Sector 72 water boosting station operational, said officials.
The authority said around 15 km of the 20-km pipeline has been tested so far and 23 leakages have been repaired. Officials said it will take another two months to fix the entire pipeline.
The Sector 72 boosting station will improve water supply in Sectors 58 to 71, covering a large residential area that is currently underserved, officials said.
