SC validates nationwide SIR, says electoral integrity cannot be compromised
India, May 27 -- The Supreme Court on Wednesday upheld the validity of the special intensive revision (SIR) conducted by the Election Commission of India (ECI), ruling that the exercise furthered the constitutional imperative of free and fair elections and that the measures adopted by the poll panel were legitimate, proportionate, and accompanied by adequate procedural safeguards.
