Bengaluru, May 1 -- The Assam government told the Supreme Court on Thursday that Congress leader Pawan Khera had allegedly used forged documents to claim that chief minister Himanta Biswa Sarma's wife possessed multiple passports and undisclosed properties abroad. Even as the court reserved its order on Khera's anticipatory bail plea, the state demanded that Khera must face custodial interrogation to explain whether he forged the documents himself or received them from others, and whether any "foreign hand" was involved in an attempt to disrupt the Assam assembly polls.
