New Delhi, Aug. 29 -- The Supreme Court on Thursday granted a four-week interim protection to journalist Abhisar Sharma in connection with a case against him by Assam Police over a video post allegedly criticising the state's policy. The court, however, refused to quash the FIR against him and said the protection has been granted so he can approach the Gauhati high court to challenge the case. "We are not inclined to entertain the challenge to the FIR. We grant interim protection of four weeks to the petitioner to enable him to approach the high court," the court said.
