Jalandhar, Aug. 30 -- The Punjab Police special investigation team (SIT) probing the 2015 Behbal Kalan firing case has again summoned senior BJP leader Vijay Kumar Sampla to appear before it on September 3.

This is the 7th time that Sampla has been summoned as earlier also he was asked to appear before the investigation team on August 27 but he expressed his inability to appear on the said date citing party engagements.

In the summons issued on Saturday, the SIT had directed Sampla to appear before it in Chandigarh on September 2 for questioning. However, in a letter to the investigating team, he requested that his appearance be scheduled for September 3, citing pre-scheduled programmes and meetings on September 2.
