Meerut, Feb. 20 -- A 25-year-old man killed his younger sister in Matavali Patti Jaggu village, in Sambhal district, on Thursday night, for carrying on an inter-faith relationship despite the family's objections.

The deceased's father even justified the action by his son, Jaan-e-Alam, saying it was correct to kill a girl (Roop Jahan, 19) who insults her family, officials said.

"Roop's conduct was unbecoming. She was in love with Shivam Saini (22) and wanted to marry him. The villagers were making fun of me. My son has no remorse.
