LUCKNOW, Aug. 22 -- The state capital's roads witnessed chaotic scenes on Friday as rain during peak office hours, waterlogging and vehicle breakdowns caused commuters to remain stuck in long queues while returning home from work across several parts of the city.

The congestion was particularly noticeable around major junctions and arterial roads. Motorists reported slow or virtually stalled traffic at multiple locations.

At Awadh Chauraha, the situation turned particularly difficult. A user on X, Devendra Kumar Verma, tagged the Lucknow traffic police and senior officials while reporting that an ambulance was stuck amid the congestion.

A vehicle breaking down on the busy Shaheed Path in Gomti Nagar triggered a traffic snarl.
