New Delhi, May 15 -- Projects worth nearly Rs.30,000 crore for more than 30 cities across six states have already secured financing commitments under the Centre's flagship Urban Challenge Fund (UCF), during the first Apex Committee meeting held earlier this week, Housing and Urban Development Corporation (HUDCO) chairman and managing director Sanjay Kulshrestha said on Thursday. He said of the Rs.30,000 crore, HUDCO has extended principal approval for lending for around Rs.13,000 crore as part of states' share. For the current FY, Centre has allocated Rs.10,000 crore, meaning projects worth Rs.40,000 crore can be potentially funded.
