Panchkula, April 7 -- A 35-year-old woman from Chandigarh surrendered before the state vigilance and anti-corruption bureau (ACB) headquarters in Panchkula on Monday in connection with the Rs.158 crore fixed deposit receipt (FDR) fraud case linked to the Panchkula municipal corporation. As per the details, about Rs.35 crore was transferred into her account.
The accused, identified as Swati Tomar, hails from Muzaffarnagar district in Uttar Pradesh and is currently residing in Sector 28, Chandigarh. She appeared before a superintendent of police-rank officer at the ACB headquarters in Sector 23, accompanied by her counsel, advocate Neeraj Sansaniwal.
