PATNA, Oct. 17 -- Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) rebel leader Ramapukar Sinha on Friday withdrew from the Saran Teachers' Constituency election after filing his nomination, which had led to his six-year suspension from the party. He will now campaign for NDA-backed JD(U) candidate Anand Pushkar.
All three RLM MLAs who had backed Sinha - Madhav Anand, Rameswar Mahto and Alok Singh - also announced their support for NDA candidates, saying their decision was never intended to weaken the alliance.
The party's state president has indicated that Sinha could be reinstated, the MLAs said.
Elections to eight Bihar Legislative Council seats will be held on October 23, with counting scheduled for October 27. arun kumar
