Ramalinga Reddy resigns from Karnataka cabinet over portfolio allocation
India, June 5 -- Senior Congress leader Ramalinga Reddy resigned on Friday over portfolio allocation adding that he will continue to remain a party member and legislator.
The development came two days after Reddy had joined the new expanded cabinet led by chief minister DK Shivakumar.
Reddy expressed his disappointment over the allocation of the ministry, Bengaluru Development Department, after CM Shivakumar had earlier promised him to provide the same.
The Bengaluru Development Department ministry was given to Krishna Byre Gowda. Reddy said the decision ran contrary to the assurance he had received.
"I have been humiliated time and again, cannot take it anymore," Reddy said.
