Lucknow, Sept. 26 -- The UPPCL has directed officials to ensure quick restoration of electricity and maintain strict safety standards, with incessant heavy rains causing an increase in power breakdowns across the state.

Principal secretary (energy) and UPPCL chairman Ranveer Prasad on Saturday reviewed the power supply situation with officials of all distribution companies, including Lucknow Electricity Supply Administration (LESA), and directed them to keep repair teams fully mobilised.

"Local faults should be rectified and supply restored in the shortest possible time," he said, adding that consumers should also be informed about disruptions.
