India, March 3 -- As the United States celebrates National Read Across America Day on March 2, we reflect on the legacy of Dr. Seuss, the beloved children's author born as Theodor Seuss Geisel in 1904.
Established by the National Education Association (NEA) in 1998, the day coincides with his birthday and serves as the launch for a week-long celebration of books and literacy.
"The more that you read, the more things you will know. The more that you learn, the more places you'll go" - Dr. Seuss
The iconic line appears in I Can Read With My Eyes Shut!, first published in 1978.
