Pune, Aug. 4 -- Autorickshaw fares in Pune district will rise from September 1, with the minimum fare for travel in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad hiked from Rs.25 to Rs.30 for the first 1.5 km and the per-kilometre charge from Rs.17 to Rs.20, officials said on Tuesday.

The latest revision by the Regional Transport Authority (RTA) marks the fourth fare hike since 2021. In less than five years, the minimum autorickshaw fare has increased by nearly 67% from Rs.18 in 2021.

The decision was taken at an RTA meeting chaired by Pune district collector Jitendra Dudi on Monday. The revised rates will apply to all licensed autorickshaws operating across Pune district.
