Bhopal/Jabalpur, May 29 -- The Indian Railways has ordered an inquiry into the alignment of a proposed railway line between Panna and Khajuraho in Madhya Pradesh after it was found to be "dangerous" due to six sharp turns, officials said. More than 54,000 trees had been cut before the alignment was dropped in 2025. Officials said the probe will examine lapses and identify those responsible for the environmental loss, adding that a new route is being planned. P8
