Poll loss brings cracks in Assam's Oppn bloc allies
Guwahati, May 11 -- Cracks have emerged within the Congress-led opposition alliance in Assam after its defeat against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and its allies in the recent assembly election, with one partner speculated to lead a non-BJP, non-Congress third front.
The Congress-led alliance of six parties bagged just 21 seats of the 126-member assembly (Congress- 19 and Raijor Dal- two).
"The BJP's effective planning and campaign, which was in contrast to our half-hearted and haphazard campaign, was the main reason for the Opposition's loss.
