India, July 18 -- In a policy decision aimed at preventing infrastructure projects from stalling due to incomplete land acquisition, the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has decided to commence work on development plan (DP) roads only after securing possession of at least 60% of the required land.

PMC commissioner Naval Kishore Ram said, "Several road projects were started without adequate land acquisition resulting in delays stretching over several years, causing inconvenience to citizens and locking up civic funds in incomplete works."
