India, June 2 -- The International Cricket Council (ICC) has approved a switch from the red to the pink ball in the middle of a Test match to curb the impact of bad light, on a trial basis. In an official statement after a two-day board meeting, cricket's governing body said a pink ball can be introduced during a bad-light period after agreement between the two sides at the start of the series. "Trialling the use of a pink ball in Test matches, with prior agreement from both teams, to maximise play in case of anticipated bad light," the statement said.
