India, June 12 -- Renowned golfer Phil Mickelson has been banned from The Farms Golf Club located near San Diego following allegations of inappropriate contact with a female staff member, as reported by Golf Digest.

The incident in question reportedly occurred prior to Mickelson's scheduled round of golf at the venue this spring.

The Farms Golf Club also released a statement concerning the incident, although it did not refer to Mickelson by name.
