India, June 4 -- Peddi box office collection day 1: Ram Charan's sports drama, Peddi, has hit the screens today (June 4), and is already on a rampage at the ticket window. The film, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, was one of the most heavily anticipated Telugu films of recent times, which was evident by its advance booking trends. On day 1, buoyed by Ram Charan's star power, the film broke quite a few records at the box office.

Peddi collected Rs.20 crore gross in advance bookings for its first day, selling over 82 lakh tickets. The film released in theatres on Thursday across 3000 screens. The bulk of this has been in its original Telugu language, but the Hindi-language dub has also received a wide release.
