CHENNAI, Aug. 21 -- A special court on Thursday handed over four capital sentences to a 47-year-old pastor, S. Abraham, for sexually assaulting four minor girls in Tirunelveli district, police said. According to the police, Abraham sexually assaulted four minor girls and a formal complaint was lodged by the mother of one of the victims at the Tirunelveli All Women Police Station in July 2022. "A case was registered under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act on July 5, 2022 and following an intensive investigation, the accused was arrested," a police officer said.
