New Delhi, June 5 -- The government on Thursday constituted 13 district-level committees to carry out a citywide survey drive against "illegal" and "unauthorised" buildings and establishments operating in violation of fire safety norms and building by-laws. "This enforcement drive will conduct rigorous fire compliance inspections and sealing of non-compliant establishments in a systematic fashion," an order said. The government has also directed the constitution of sub-division-level committees in all revenue subdivisions to be supervised by the district-level committees and submit daily reports to the district magistrate.
