Srinagar, Sept. 6 -- Jammu and Kashmir Police on Saturday identified the terrorist killed in a high-altitude encounter in Budgam as Yasir, a Pakistani national and active Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) member. A hunt for another terrorist, Musa, continued at the site, located 12,000-15,500 feet in the Pir Panjal range. Yasir was killed during Operation Ashdar, a joint Army, J&K Police and CRPF mission. Police linked him to three 2024 attacks in Poonch, Sonamarg and Bota Pathri that killed security personnel, porters and civilians. Security forces recovered an AK rifle from the scene.
