Owner came but 'made no effort' to save lives, left: Witness claims after Delhi fire kills 21
India, June 4 -- The owner of the building in Delhi's Hauz Rani area where a massive fire erupted visited the site after the tragedy but "made no efforts to help", a witness claimed on Thursday. The owner of the hotel, Lavkesh Bajaj, was arrested by the Delhi Police on Wednesday night.
The fire tragedy in Delhi's Hauz Rani area, near Malviya Nagar claimed 21 lives, with several others injured and battling for their lives in hospital.
An eyewitness named Md Wasim Khan told news agency ANI that he contacted the owner after the fire broke out at around 8:30am, and the two spoke for 26 seconds. He alleged that Bajaj came to the scene after being informed about the fire but left without helping those trapped inside.
