Kohima, July 25 -- A group of leaders has broken away from the Isak-Muivah-led National Socialist Council of Nagalim (NSCN-IM) and announced the formation of a "provisional government". They claimed that the spirit of the ceasefire agreement with the Centre had "ceased to exist". The new Eastern Flank faction said the decision was taken at an "extraordinary joint emergency meeting" held on July 21 at Mt Horeb Camp in Myanmar's Sagaing region. It said the move was aimed at "saving the nation from another surrender" and "rescuing the Naga political movement from its present predicament".
