Lucknow, Sept. 29 -- The Election Commission of India (ECI) will issue notifications for the biennial election to 10 Rajya Sabha and 11 Legislative Council graduate and teacher constituency seats in Uttar Pradesh on Tuesday and the filing of nominations for both elections will begin the same day.

October 6 is the last date for filing nominations for the Rajya Sabha election. Scrutiny will be done on October 7. Candidates will be able to withdraw their nominations until October 9. The voting will take place on October 16. Votes will be counted the same day. The election process will be completed by October 19.

For the Legislative Council election, too, the last date for filing nominations is October 6 and scrutiny will be done on October...
