New Delhi, Feb. 24 -- The Northern Railway is running around 500 additional train trips to manage the Holi rush, officials said on Monday, as crowd-control measures are being stepped up across key stations in the National Capital Region (NCR), particularly at New Delhi railway station, ahead of the festival on March 4.

Officials added that over 600 additional trips are also being run by other railway zones, covering the NCR region as part of broader arrangements for the festive period.

"Railways has made extensive arrangements to ensure that passengers do not face any inconvenience despite the heavy rush expected. Already, a number of festive trains have started running," Northern Railway general manager Rajesh Kumar Pandey said, adding...
