India, June 5 -- The Uttar Pradesh excise department is aiming to expand premium retail liquor outlets in malls and large-format retail spaces across Noida and Ghaziabad, while tightening digital tracking of liquor sales and stock movement as part of a broader compliance and revenue strategy, officials said on Thursday.

The move aims to encourage premium retail formats and low-alcohol categories while improving transparency in liquor sales through greater use of technology, they added.
