NIT Kurukshetra director's powers revoked, govt forms review panel
Karnal, March 31 -- The Union ministry of education has withdrawn the administrative and financial powers of the director of the National Institute of Technology (NIT) Kurukshetra, professor BV Ramana Reddy, with immediate effect.
An official order was issued by the ministry's department of higher education on Sunday. The government has also decided to form a committee to review the institute's work, progress, affairs, and the director's leadership role. The reason for the move, however, wasn't mentioned in the order.
The three-member committee will submit its report in a month. HT has a copy of the order.
