PATNA, March 6 -- He was supposed to join the Janata Dal (United), a party his father helmed for decades, on Thursday. He didn't. But Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar's son Nishant's entry into politics is imminent, says Sanjay Gandhi, a JD(U) MLC and a close confidant of CM Kumar, who added that the 50-year-old may even become a deputy chief minister. Kumar, 75, is set to be elected to the Rajya Sabha later this month. Nishant has so far remained away from public life by choosing not to join the JD(U) formally or take up social or political assignments.
