India, March 8 -- Nishant Kumar, the son of Bihar chief minister Nitish Kumar, formally joined his father's Janata Dal (United) at the party's office in Patna on Sunday, marking the beginning of his political career amid strong support from party leaders and workers.

JD(U) working president and Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Jha inducted Nishant Kumar into the party. After taking the membership, Nishant Kumar also addressed party workers present at the event.
