New Delhi, Sept. 21 -- The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has launched a probe into a conspiracy to establish a Jaish-e-Mohammad (JeM) network in Gujarat by radicalising and recruiting young men using extremist books written by designated terrorist and JeM chief Maulana Masood Azhar, and carrying out terror attacks in the region, officials familiar with the development said. The federal anti-terror probe agency has taken over the investigation from Gujarat anti-terror squad, which had, in July, arrested about a dozen individuals after raids at several locations in the state and adjoining Madhya Pradesh.
