NGT fines DUSIB Rs.25,000 for delay in Barapullah drain report
New Delhi, March 31 -- The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has imposed a Rs.25,000 penalty on the Delhi Urban Shelter Improvement Board (DUSIB) for failing to file a status report on Barapullah and its subsidiary drains despite being granted additional time. The tribunal directed DUSIB to submit a detailed report before the next hearing on April 1.
The NGT has been hearing petitions seeking remedial measures to address pollution and desilting issues in drains.
