India, Sept. 10 -- The Seattle Seahawks have officially entered a new era after the Khosla family completed its $9.612 billion purchase of the NFL team. The deal was approved unanimously by NFL owners on August 26 and officially closed on September 3, making it the most expensive NFL team sale ever.

Vinod Khosla, the Indian-born billionaire and founder of Khosla Ventures, is the team's chair, while his wife, Neeru Khosla, is the controlling owner. Their son Neal Khosla is the team's vice chair.
