PATNA, July 2 -- Former Jagdishpur sub-divisional police officer (SDPO) Rajesh Kumar Sharma, who led the controversial encounter of Bharat Bhushan Tiwari in the Shahpur police station area of Bhojpur district in Bihar last month, was among 53 deputy superintendents of police (DSPs) officers transferred by the state home department on Wednesday. Additionally, 12 IPS officers were also transferred.
Sharma, who was attached to the headquarters after being named as an accused in the FIR lodged by Tiwari's mother, has been brought back to the Prohibition & State Narcotics Control Bureau (PSNCB) even before the police investigation in the case could begin.
The development has raised questions and uproar among the Opposition.
