India, Sept. 9 -- Nepal's Prime Minister KP Oli resigned on Monday, officials confirmed, stepping down amid mounting pressure after one of the deadliest crackdowns in years left at least 19 people dead and reignited nationwide protests.

His departure is expected to spark intense political negotiations as parties scramble to form a new government.
