New Delhi, Oct. 26 -- National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) personnel posted in Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh will participate in a special three-day workshop for preparedness, management and response to Glacial Lake Outburst Flood (GLOF) disasters starting October 29 in New Delhi, officials familiar with the matter said. The personnel participating in the workshop titled "Flash Floods and GLOF Risk Reduction at Vulnerable Locations along Mountain River Basins", will be from the NDRF's 2nd, 13th, 14th and 15 battalions, they said.
