New Delhi, June 24 -- The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has suspended all road-cutting operations from July 1 to September 30, with no new permissions to be granted during the monsoon, officials said on Tuesday. Permissions already issued have also been suspended where work is yet to begin, they added. Exceptions will be allowed only for urgent public utility or emergency works with prior nod of NDMC chairperson, they said. "The restriction will help maintain the structural integrity of roads...," an NDMC official said, asking not to be named, adding, "Fresh execution of works will only be permitted if it is deemed emergent."HTC
