India, April 2 -- Coral Springs Vice Mayor Nancy Metayer Bowen was found dead in her home Wednesday, April 1, Fox News reported. Her husband, Stephen Bowen, is now in police custody, authorities said.

Nancy was shot dead just three months after her brother died by suicide, People reported.

Police found the South Florida city leader, 38, at around 10 am on Wednesday after they began an investigation into her "well-being," according to the South Florida Sun Sentinel.
