India, Sept. 23 -- A 32-year-old woman allegedly ended her life over the weekend in Nagpur during a live video call with her long-time partner, who watched and kept it connected for 23 minutes after her death, police said on Wednesday.

The two were in a relationship since 2015, and the partner allegedly exploited her physically under the repeated assurances of marriage, they added.

Sainath Ramod, a Maharashtra Police officer, said the call remained connected for around 23 minutes after she died. "The accused made no effort to dissuade or save her. Based on her mother's complaint, we have registered a case and are dispatching a team to Pune to arrest him for interrogation."
