India, Sept. 23 -- The Congress on Tuesday alleged that its leaders were attacked while campaigning for the Nagaon Lok Sabha bypoll in Assam, where they allegedly met with "Go Back" slogans and black-flag protests before stones, bottles and other objects were allegedly hurled at their vehicles.

Congress leader Naseer Hussain argued that the incident was part of a broader Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) pattern of intimidating the Opposition leaders and discouraging voters from participating in the electoral process.
