Mundhwa land scam: Court rejects second bail plea of suspended sub-registrar
India, Aug. 21 -- A Pune sessions court has rejected the second bail application of suspended sub-registrar Ravindra Balkrishna Taru, a key accused in the high-profile Mundhwa land scam, observing that he had played an active role in facilitating the registration of a disputed sale deed on a nominal Rs.500 stamp paper.
Additional Sessions Judge DS Deshmukh rejected Taru's plea on Tuesday, noting that the alleged transaction caused a loss of nearly Rs.21 crore to the state exchequer. The copy of the order was made available on Thursday. The court also held that Taru had failed to establish any change in circumstances since his earlier bail application was rejected.
