Mumbai, Oct. 7 -- Mumbai's Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), one of the country's oldest government engineering institutes, is set to get new hostels for boys and girls, while the Maharashtra government is also expected to approve the recruitment of vacant faculty posts at the institute, officials said.

The decisions were taken during a review meeting chaired by higher and technical education minister Chandrakant Patil on Tuesday to discuss various pending proposals related to VJTI.
