Mumbai/ Navi Mumbai/ Thane/ Vasai, July 6 -- Six people were killed and one was injured after a three-storey chawl (row tenement) collapsed in Mumbai's Mankhurd area, while two others died in tree-collapse incidents in Kurla and Aarey Colony as heavy rains, accompanied by winds, lashed the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) on Sunday. Schools and colleges will be shut on Monday amid forecasts of more rain. According to officials from the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), the first incident occurred at Chawl No 5 in Janta Nagar at around 8.30 pm.
