India, Oct. 7 -- The Mumbai police's crime branch has booked 10 bogus doctors for allegedly practising medicine without valid medical degrees or registration with the Maharashtra Medical Council, as part of a special drive against unlicensed practitioners.

The quacks were allegedly operating clinics in areas such as Bhandup, Mankhurd, Kurla, Jogeshwari, Borivali, and Dahisar. The police said they also found expired Unani and Ayurvedic medicines in their clinics, where they were primarily treating people with venereal or sexually transmitted diseases and charging exorbitant fees.
