Srinagar, Aug. 12 -- Multi-layered security arrangements have been being put in place across Kashmir ahead of the Independence Day celebrations on August 15.

The security agencies have heightened the security measures across the valley, including enhanced deployments, frisking and frequent checking of vehicles, particularly around the I-day function venues, including in capital Srinagar.

The police and other security agencies have established mobile checkpoints, increased deployments in sensitive areas while the security grid of Srinagar-Jammu National Highway has also been enhanced.
