Bhopal, July 7 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA from Madhya Pradesh's Raigaon, Pratima Bagri, on Monday appeared before a state-level scrutiny committee to argue against allegations by of getting Scheduled Caste (SC) certificates fraudulently. 37-year-old Bagri was elected in 2023, and later inducted into the cabinet as a minister of state. The controversy stemmed from state president of Congress's SC wing, Pradeep Ahirwar's allegations. In a petition filed in the state high court, he alleged that Bagri and her family fraudulently obtained SC certificates despite belonging to the Rajput community.
