Gurugram, June 24 -- A 26-year-old man died and two people were injured after a moving truck in Palwal, Haryana, caught fire allegedly after a mobile phone explosion on Sunday, police said Tuesday.
According to police, victim Shivchandra Kumar, his wife, their two children had boarded a truck from near Hansi to go to Banda, Uttar Pradesh.
As they were passing through the Palwal Sadar area via the expressway, Kumar's mobile phone in the luggage exploded suddenly. Police said the blaze spread quickly since the truck was loaded with polythene sheets. To save himself, the man, whose clothes had caught fire, jumped from the moving truck. He fell onto the expressway and sustained grievous injuries, which resulted in his death.
