India, Aug. 29 -- Also known as fuse-bead or Perler-bead art, pindou is a pixel-inspired craft made by arranging tiny, colourful plastic beads on a flat surface, before fusing them together with heat. Simple and highly accessible, the craft has found a growing following in China, where fuse-bead products generated over 100 million RMB (approximately Rs.141 crores) in sales in the first quarter of 2026 alone. The trend has also taken off on Chinese TikTok, catching the attention of luxury and beauty brands. Loewe recreated its Type Fussbett sandal bead-by-bead, while Delvaux hosted fuse-bead workshops.
