India, June 12 -- A massive fire broke out at a residential building in Delhi's Tughlakabad area on Friday morning, and about eight people have been shifted to hospitals. Details on the number of casualties is still awaited.

The fire reportedly erupted during the early hours this morning, and several people have been rescued.

The development comes weeks after a massive blaze at a B&B in Delhi's Hauz Rani left at least 23 people dead. The incident had caused huge uproar over the lack of ventilation and shortage of number of entry and exits. Most of those who died in the blaze had family members getting treated at the Max Hospital across the street in Malviya Nagar.

This is a breaking news story. Further details are awaited.
